To TJ, Trinity, and the rest of the family.  / Sarah McGillis (cousin)

I want to remember that Jesus who loves us will see fit to bring some good out of this tragedy.  Whenever you feel upset sad or worried about your future call on God ask him for help and trust him with all your heart that he will give you what you NEED.  Just remember that what you need may not always be what you want.  My thoughts and prayers will be with you always.
I also hope with all my heart that you will be able to forgive the man who did this to your beloved mom as Jesus was able to forgive those who pursecuted and crucified him.  I do want to see this animal held accountable for his actions but I don't want your heart tainted by thoughts of revenge.
Love always

I am grateful for the time that I knew Rebecca but so sad that it was such a short amount of time. We found common ground with our experiences working in special education and teaching dance. The first day we met we went out for lunch and had a wonderful easy conversation about teaching family dance art... I remember thinking that her children were lucky to have a mom who loved being a mom and that her students were lucky to have a teacher that loved her work and respected her students. Rebecca was someone who helped you feel comfortable right from the start. Having been very nervous for my first day at Alverno I drove home feeling thankful for our lunch. Please know that nothing Rebecca did no matter how small went unnoticed. My heart is sad for everyone who is missing her. You are all in my prayers. Melissa. Close

Ms. Manzke and I had just met a few days before mothers day. She helped me create a beautiful bouquet of kisses flowers for my mother. Her nad I had talked about how important it was to cherish our mothers. Just by having that short conversation she made an impact on me. Im sure she'd made a world of an impact on her family. (BTW) She was a fantstic dancer as well. At times like this think of all the awsome memories and cry all you need too. Because after the tears comes the sunshine. Close

I am deeply grateful for the few weeks in which I began to know Becky. From my 1st encounter with her during Graduate Orientation weekend I was impressed by Becky's love of the work she was doing. During our classes I further noted Becky's commitment & enthusiasm. She had a clear vision of how she would use her talents to connect with her students. She was a model student herself determined to increase her learning and build upon the skills she possessed. Becky's commitment to learning & teaching was a gift she chose to share and many lives were touched by her gift. Anyone who has ever known her will feel the loss of her gentle & kind presence. My heart goes out to each and every member of Becky's family. I hope that you will find at least some comfort in knowing that Becky's life was filled with purpose. She was not afraid to pursue her dreams and she touched many lives. In the upcoming months and years of coming to terms with this painful loss I will continue to keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. I will continue to remember the incredible gift Becky gave to her students and colleagues. Mei the love you shared with Becky and the memories you created together bring comfort strength and healing to each of you. Close

I had the good fortune of meeting Becky for the first time when she started teaching at Audubon High School.  As her supervisor for special education I visited Becky's classroom several times during the school year.  I must say each time was a joy for me.  Becky's knack for engaging the students and her unabashed enthusiasm for the art of teaching was amazing.  Ms. Manzke will be greatly missed at Audubon High School.

So sorry to hear about the death of your sister. What a tragic loss for your family and her young children. I didn't realize Gary was your dad when the notice of your sister's death came to our email or I would have been at the funeral. Jeff sends his condolences as well. I'll be praying for you and your family. Let me know if I can be of any help. Close

Becky was a wonderful person. She was a great teacher friend and poms coach. If I needed a ride she'd offer. She was paitient with students. No matter how frustratingshe'd always kept her cool. I had study hall and sometimes I had to go with her to the dance class she taught for special Ed kids. She was so good with them. She'd always be laughing and smiling with the kids. One time she had me counsel someone. She said my purpose was to help others feel better. She was a great poms coach. I have a walker and instead of limiting meshe encouraged me. She is now resting in God's hands. I lost my mom at a young age so if TJ and Trinity need someone to talk toI'm here. I want you to all know we are here. Close

Becky taught dance to the special ed class I work with at Audubon High school. Becky introduced us to a variety of dance steps along with tap dancing and also zumba. The children and I really enjoyed her enthusiasm for dance. Becky will be truly missed. I am so honored to have known her.  For as long as there is music Becky will be in the shadows of my heart dancing. Close

My prayers go out to all who've known Becky.  / Christina Knutson (Fellow Graduate Student )

Becky although I had not known her a long time has/had made an amazing impact on my life in the past 6 weeks. I started Graduate classes this Summer with her and 7 other students. I was lucky enough to be placed ina group with Becky our first orientation weekend. I immediately was attracted to her personality. Becky stood out to me immediately. She loved learning. She loved teaching. She appreciated everyone's value in the room. Becky made me laugh. She encouraged me. She made me think about what larger goals I could reach that I may have let to the wayside.

Becky was all about making things happen. Following her dreams. She was all about taking something from every experience that she had. She talked about the dance studio she would be opening soon and I was so happy she was going to be able to finally do this. She had aspirations to teach special needs children through dance and her face lit up everytime she talked about it. She was proud of her children and I looked up to her for coming back to school to finish what she had started. She had a passion for teaching an ability to understand others' perspectives and an amazing ability to teach the "unteachable."

My heart goes out to her family friends and children. I cannot imagine the pain you are all going through.

I would like to offer a suggestion when the time is right that may help with the pain and suffering going on in the hearts of the family and especially her children. Last year at Alverno a school Becky seemed to be enjoying greatly I was introduced to an organization called MargaretAnne's place. Jim Henderson a professor at the college is a spokesperson for the organization and I have been to some of their charity events. They help children who have had to deal with death and dying. They do so in many ways...some being art and I believe dance. I think this would be a wonderful place to have the children get involved with. Becky loved the arts education and dance. I can't think of a better way for them to express their feelings about the pain they are going to be having from the loss of their mother. I would be happy to share more information with you or hope that you look into this at some point if not now. It might be a way for the children to deal with the pain they are going to be dealing with for a long time.

Again my continued prayers will be with you and her family. I can find comfort in knowing that Becky was a strong kind and faithful woman and pray  for comfort and healing for everyone.

God Bless

Christina

I had the privilege to have Becky as a cousin a friend and a Godmother. I love her and miss her so much. I knew that whenever I was struggling Becky would be there with her big heart and give me the reassurance and the advice that I needed. I do not understand why this has happened but I am comforted knowing that she is now up in heaven with our Grandma Carol. Close
